Vet Expert V+ Acatavir Gel (Cat Flu Supplements for Cats)

Vet Expert ACATAVIR® is a topical oral gel developed to support the regeneration of the oral mucosa in cats, particularly during or after viral infections associated with feline upper respiratory tract disease, commonly known as “cat flu.” It is especially suitable for cats with reduced local immunity or an imbalanced oral microbiome.

The formula features patented sodium polystyrene sulfonate, known as PSSNa. According to the product information, PSSNa is an antiviral polymer developed to interfere with infection at different stages. Research referenced by the manufacturer indicates that PSSNa may block feline herpesvirus type 1 from entering host cells and disrupt the replication cycle of feline calicivirus.

The gel formulation provides good adhesion to the gums and oral tissues. Its controlled applicator allows the gel to be placed inside the cheek pocket, even when the cat’s mouth remains closed, helping make application more convenient and less stressful at home or in a veterinary clinic.

ACATAVIR® is intended to support veterinary management and symptomatic care. It should not be used as a substitute for veterinary diagnosis, prescribed medication, hydration, nutrition or other treatments recommended by a veterinarian.
