When I first started feeding my dog renal food this was not available. The wet (canned or pouch) and dry versions were my only options.
The liquid form of the renal food has many advantages, and although it is quite time consuming to administer, the results are worthwhile.
I would say, after a short trial, that the liquid is preferred and has other advantages, in addition to being easy to digest.
Given that the dog has kidney problems and is way over normal life expectancy, I think this product is one of the better 'special diet' foods. I have noted a decrease in side effects and an increase in energy since starting the liquid renal diet, so I am very pleased.
